Named after John Coltrane´s posthumously released album "Sun ship", Marc Ribot´s Sun Ship features neither tenor saxophone nor piano. Instead he enlists a second guitarist, Mary Halvorson, as well as Jason Ajemian on upright bass and Chad Taylor on drums.
